Mitt Romney will address coal miners and their families during a campaign stop Tuesday in Belmont County.
Romney is scheduled to visit the Century Mine near Beallsville, Ohio, at 12:30 p.m., campaign spokesman Chris Maloney said. Miners and their families have received invitations to attend, but the event will not be open to the general public.
Accompanying Romney will be Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio. Portman had been on Romney's short list of potential running mates, but on Saturday Romney selected Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., to join him on the presidential ticket.
Maloney said he is unsure whether Ryan will join Romney during his stop Tuesday in the local area.
