NELSON, Carol Lynne Wear, known to everyone as "Aunt Carol," 68, of Valley Grove, WV, died on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at her home.
She was born July 3, 1944 in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Melvin Wear and May H. Birch Wear.
Carol was a retired in home day care provider for 22 years and also retired at Vineyard Church as a middle school coordinator. She was a member of Vineyard Church and was a graduate of the former Triadelphia High School. She was past president for Wheeling Chapter Aglow; was former council person for Valley Grove, was a seamstress and enjoyed various forms of crafting. She loved reading and her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Milton "Bud" Wear; two sisters, Evelyn Bowman and Norma Winslow and a son, Jepson L. Nelson, III.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Jepson "Larry" Nelson; two daughters, Rebecca Nelson Haley of Wheeling and Heidi Mull and her husband, Clyde of Valley Grove; a son, Jay Nelson (Beth) of Wheeling; a brother, William Wear of Wheeling; two sisters, Lois Jack of Wheeling and Joann Perry and her husband, Webb of Bellaire, OH; eight grandchildren, Rachel Nelson Green; Andrew Haley, Aaron Haley, Hannah, Monica, Tabitha, Jacob and Nolah Mull; four great-grandchildren, Amy A Davis, Mykel Davis, Malaya Stargen and Ezra Terrett and several nieces and nephews.
Friends received on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311) and on Wednesday, August 14, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Vineyard Church, 647 Wardens Run Road, Wheeling with Mr. Chris Figaretti officiating. Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling.
