PIATT, James Jacob, 64, of Nauvoo Ridge Rd., Cameron, died Friday, August 17, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 26, 1947 in Glen Dale, the son of the late Edward Alfred and Ethel Allman Piatt.
He was a retired coalminer of 27 years from Consol Coal; a retired worker for the WV State Police for 14 years; a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam; and baptized in the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints.
He enjoyed Mountain Man Buckskinning; was an avid hunter; a member of the Hundred Sportsman Club; and played many years of softball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son James Kevin Piatt; two brothers, Edward Clyde and Jerry Lee Piatt; and a sister, Margaret Helen Yocum.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years Diana Meyer Piatt; a son, Jason Dean (Cathy) Piatt of Cameron; two daughters, Amy Diana Piatt at home, Adrienne Michelle Piatt (Brian) Thomas of Cameron; three grandchildren, Cody Allen Croxton, Brian James Thomas, Olivia Michelle Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Betsy and Kenny Tagg of Moundsville, Donna and Kenny Efaw of Wadestown, WV; and all his Mountain Man family.
Family will receive friends Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
Interment in Nauvoo Cemetery, Cameron.
