John Culley

CULLEY, John L., 65, of Wheeling passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012, at the VA Hospital in Pittsburgh.

He was born May 15, 1947, in Wheeling, the son of Betty Culley and the late Lloyd R. Culley.

He was a Vietnam Army veteran and received a Purple Heart. He was retired from Weirton Steel, and a retired United Methodist minister.

John was a member of the Scottish Rite in Wheeling, the Harley-Davidson Hog Club, and the Veteran Center in Bethlehem.

Along with is mother, he is survived by his three daughters, Tracey Lusk (Dave) of Moundsville, Na-Yung Culley of Charleston, and Briony Poe (Kevin) of Morgantown; a brother, George Culley (Sue) of Wheeling; a sister, Linda Hostutler of Wheeling; three granddaughters; three nephews; a special uncle, Neil Lough; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Ave., Warwood, (304-277-2722) with Pastor Jody Carroll officiating. Interment in Short Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in honor of John may be made to the Fisher House, VAPHS, University Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa., 15240.
