DONLEY, Edward Lee, 83, of Wellsburg passed away on Friday, August 24, 2012 at home with his family by his side
He was born on March 8, 1929 in Wellsburg, WV. Edward was the son of Eleanor Irene McFadden and Edgar Justice.
He was a 1947 graduate of Wellsburg High School. Edward served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1946-1949. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Wellsburg. Edward retired from Weirton Steel Corp and was an amateur radio operator WN8N.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherrene Donley; two grandsons, Derek Eisenhauer and Joshua Donley; six brothers, James, Frank, William, Henry, John, and Charles Donley; and six sisters, Velma Leonard, Louise Foltz, Hilda Bessette, Mary Smith and Hilda Kowcheck.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Catherine R. (Misch) Donley of Wellsburg; two daughters, Janet (Edward) Barnett of Cross Lanes, WV, and Mary Ann (Jay) Eisenhauer of Bethany, WV; a son, Douglas (Janice) Donley of Ravenna, OH; three grandchildren, James Barnett of Ripley, WV, Jennifer (Micah) Knisley of Follansbee, WV, and Matt (Kari) Barnett of Cross Lanes, WV; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Knisley, Caden Knisley and Ashton Barnett; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main St., Wellsburg, with the Rev. Gene Sheppard officiating.
Interment will follow with full military honors by the Ohio Valley Memorial Veterans Squad at Franklin Cemetery, Wellsburg.
