MOUNDSVILLE - Police expect to release more details today regarding an investigation into the rape of a woman reported Tuesday evening.

According to a police report, officers were dispatched to a Mulberry Avenue home at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday after a 29-year-old woman reported to the Marshall County Sheriff's Department that she had been raped.

Police detective Sgt. Don DeWitt said the woman told police she was raped at her home on Second Street about an hour before notifying the sheriff's department. She went to a friend's home on Mulberry Avenue to contact deputies.

DeWitt said the woman provided investigators with a description of the suspect, but he declined to release any additional details Wednesday.

"We're still looking into (the) matter and haven't identified any possible suspects as of yet," he said.

Tri-State Ambulance took the woman to Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, the police report states.
