Until now, about 600 management analysts in Ohio state government have not been members of the union representing most state employees, the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association.
That will change - solely because the OCSEA says so. It has informed the state it wants the workers to be forced to join the union. State officials agreed.
Hundreds of the analysts will have to join the union and pay dues to it, according to a published report.
That is wrong, plainly and simply. No one should be forced to join a labor union and pay dues to it.
State approval of the deal should be rescinded.
