MARTIN, Jean M. (Hanly), 87, of Vine St., Martins Ferry, OH, died Sunday, September 2, 2012, at Rosewood Manor, Yorkville, OH. She was born January 27, 1925, in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late James A. and Helen (Miller) Hanly.
She was a retired employee of the former Stone & Thomas Department Store, Wheeling, WV. Jean was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Martin; a son, Robert J. Martin Jr.; a brother, James A. Hanly; and a sister, Patricia Bevilacqua.
Surviving are her daughter, Kathy (Stoney) Padgelek of Martins Ferry; a sister Maureen Lovinski of Wintersville, OH; three grandchildren, Lori (Tony) Coleman, and Christy (Jim) Burnett, all of St. Clairsville, OH, and Luke Padgelek of Bellaire, OH; and six great-grandchildren, Brittany and Jacob Coleman, and Meggan and Cody Burnett, all of St. Clairsville, and Lukas and Anna Padgelek of Martins Ferry.
Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, where services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tom Marut officiating. Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
