Mike and Janet Poluga of Martins Ferry are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today, Sept. 16.
They were united in marriage Sept. 16, 1972 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, with the Rev. George Goodbout officiating.
Janet Poluga is the daughter of Regina Pettit and the late Forrest Pettit. She is employed by the Martins Ferry Public Library.
Poluga is the son of Olga Poluga and the late Bernard Poluga. He is employed by TIMET in Toronto.
They are the parents of two daughters. The family includes Alison Young and her husband, Jeremy, of Jersey City, N.J., and Alicia Poluga of Chicago. They have a grandson.
To celebrate their anniversary, the family took a vacation to Myrtle Beach, S.C.
