An Oct. 10 debate in Wheeling between U.S. Senate candidates Joe Manchin, John Raese and Bob Henry Baber has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict.
Manchin, the Democrat incumbent, has been in office since 2010 after winning a special election to fill the seat after the death of longtime Sen. Robert C. Byrd.
Raese, a Republican, is a Morgantown businessman. This race marks the fourth time he has sought to become a senator.
Baber, representing the Mountain Party, serves as major gifts officer at Glenville State College. He unsuccessfully ran for governor in the 2011 special election.
Voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 6, to choose the state's next senator during the 2012 general election.
