Loreto Pettini

PETTINI, Loreto "Putt" John, 80, of Windsor Heights passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at Wheeling Hospital after a long illness.

He was born September 1, 1932 in Alliance, Ohio son of the late Loreto Julius and Oniela "Nellie" Dzitko Pettini.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Louis Pettini, and several step-brothers and step-sisters.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Beech Bottom.

He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation.

He was a devoted husband and father, and took great pride in the achievements of his children and grandchildren. He was a man of great integrity and leaves a legacy of hard work and loyalty.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Helen Ujcich Pettini; two sons, L. Robert Pettini of Ohio and Joseph (Barbara) Pettini of Bethany; two daughters, Lori (James) Hull of Benwood, and Michele (Anthony) Maslo of Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Ewusiak, Joseph Pettini, Jennifer Hull, Jimmy Hull, AJ Maslo, Alex Maslo, and Augie Maslo; two great-grandchildren, Marlee Ewusiak and Preslee Ewusiak. He is also survived by a brother, John Pettini of Canton, and a sister, Evelyn Church of McMechen.

Friends will be received Sunday, October 7, 2012 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-277-2722) with vigil services at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 with Father Dan Pisano as celebrant at Holy Family Catholic Church in Beech Bottom, WV.

Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

We would like to extend a very special thank you to Drs. Comerci and Ryncarz, the nurses and support staff on the fifth floor of Wheeling Hospital and Brightwood Nursing Home, for their wonderful care and support.
