McCASKEY, Jack M., 86, of 8th Street, New Martinsville, WV, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at OVMC in Wheeling, WV.

He was born July 30, 1926 in New Martinsville, the son of the late John and Dorothy Moore McCaskey.

He was a 1944 graduate of Magnolia High School and enlisted in the US Army in 1945. He was on active duty stateside in the final days of World War II, and served in post-war Germany. Following his military service, he attended WVU and received a Bachelor's Degree in business. He retired as Chief Accountant with the Bayer Corporation. After his retirement, he and his wife, Clara Ann, operated a retail shop on Main Street.

Jack was a member of United Methodist Church in New Martinsville, a lifetime member of The Moose Lodge where he served as financial secretary for many years and as a governor; a board member and treasurer of River Heritage Days, former member of The American Legion and Magnolia Boosters, and he served on other community groups, including financial clerk for Williams Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Clara Ann Culley McCaskey; a brother, Robert McCaskey and a cousin, Wayne McCaskey.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan McCaskey; two sons, Samuel and Patrick McCaskey all of New Martinsville; a grandson, Tanner Buchanan; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Buchanan; three sister-in- laws, Floy Hawkins and Elsie Culley of New Martinsville and Neva Gocke of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville with Rev. Melissa Shortridge officiating.
