Clarence Morris

MORRIS, Clarence R., 86, of Rt. 1, Proctor, WV, died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the New Martinsville Care and Rehab Center.

He was born on January 20, 1926, in Tyler County, WV, a son of the late Clarence and Carrie Morris.

Clarence was a retired construction worker; a Protestant by faith, a World War II Navy veteran serving in the South Pacific; an active member of the DAV in New Martinsville and a member of the Marshall Union Lodge #8, A.F.& A.M., Moundsville, WV.

Surviving are his wife of 66 years, June Wingrove Morris; one son, Ken (Dawn) Morris of St. Clairsville, OH; two grandchildren: Cindy (Matt) Nowak and Matt Morris; five great-grandchildren, all of Ohio; two sisters: Barbara (John) Nice of New Martinsville and Sandra Pelletier of Wheeling, WV; three brothers: Russell, Ron (Patty) and Gary, all of West Virginia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-5:30 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home, 751 Third St., New Martisnville, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. LeMoyne Horner officiating.

DAV services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville, with full military graveside honors.
