BAUMGARDNER, Robert E. "Bob," 66, of Tomlinson Avenue, Glen Dale, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012, at home.
He was born October 8, 1946, in Glen Dale, the son of the late Herbert and Florence Baumgardner.
He was a retired Enforcement Agent from the West Virginia Alcohol and Beverage Control Administration. Bob served as Mayor of Glen Dale; Councilman for Glen Dale; President of the Glen Dale Fire Department; former member of the Board of Directors American Red Cross; co-chair Ohio River Clean Sweep Program; Executive Board Member Regional Boy Scouts of America; assistant scout master; member of Order of the Arrow, BSA; Founder and President of Friends of Scouting.
He was also a member of Marshall Union Lodge 8 AM⁡ Valley of Wheeling Scottish Rite; Osiris Shrine; Wheeling FOP Lodge 38; Wheeling Elks Lodge 28; named a Distinguished West Virginian; and selected as member of The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Margaret "Margie" Ernst Baumgardner; son Maxen L. (Jeanette) Baumgardner of Longwood, FL; daughter Healy E. (Emil) Nardone of Wheeling; mother-in-law Betty M. Ernst of Wheeling; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Roger Morris of Ashley, MI; nieces and nephews Tammi Morris, Michael Morris, Jamie (Kevin) Harkness all of Michigan, Kim (Mark) Wade of Kentucky; several great-nieces and nephews; many good friends and neighbors.
Family will receive friends Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, where Rosary Devotions will be recited Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Jude Catholic Church, 710 Jefferson Ave., Glen Dale, with Father Ranjan Ekka and Monsignor Bakhus Chidiac as co-celebrants. Interment in Mt. Rose Cemetery, Moundsville.
