October 28, 2012
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

WINTERSVILLE - Indian Creek wasn't caught looking ahead to next week's playoff game, scoring 34 second-quarter points en route to a victory against the Wildcats.

Holding the 7-0 lead thanks to a 7-yard scoring pass from Alex Young to Alex LaRue, the Redskins put the game to rest in the game's second quarter.

After Monty Young hit Chris Graziani for a loss of 7 on an Edison fake punt attempt, Indian Creek found itself set up at the Wildcats' 35. Seven plays later, on second-and-18, Young hit Frankie Kamarec for a 19-yard touchdown strike. Young, who wore No. 12 in honor of teammate Justin Cummings, put home the extra point for the 14-0 lead.

After an Edison three-and-out, the Redskins pushed the lead to 21-0 on the strength of a Logan Woods 7-yard run and Young kick. On the drive Young broke free for 22 yards and hit Woods for a 16-yard completion.

Edison made it 21-6 with a Trevor Murray 2-yard scoring grab from Nolan Marcus, but the Wildcats cheers were short-lived.

On the first play of the ensuing drive Blake Roar went up the middle for a 64-yard touchdown and Young's fourth PAT made the score 28-6 Redskins.

With 1:38 left in the first half Kamarec and Young connected for a second score, this one from 20 yards out to make the score 34-6.

McClelland stripped an Edison receiver on the first play of the ensuing possession to set up a Young to Drew Sullivan 12-yard scoring toss. Fernando Prestes' point after closed the half's scoring at 41-6 in favor of the Redskins.

McClelland picked off a screen pass earlier in the half adding to his outstanding performance, and the Redskins defense held Edison to just 78 yards offense in the first half.
