MASON, Veronica Lee (Neely) passed away peacefully at Wheeling Hospital November 1, 2012.
She was a Christian by faith.
She was born January 31, 1935 to the late Kenneth and Lillian Neely. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Mason Sr.
Veronica had a quick wit and was a captivating storyteller and writer. She was retired from the Marx Toy Factory and was an entrepreneur of Roberts Ridge Video Store.
She was a matriarch with an entourage of friends that included a caring companion, Richard Darrah of Moundsville.
Her loving family includes a brother, Larry Neely (Carol) of Glen Easton; her children, Waleah Nixon of Moundsville, Harold L. Mason Jr. (Paula) of Blacksburg, S.C., Tracey Garrett (Patrick) of Tazewell, Va., and Marty Mason (Theresa) of Moundsville; and seven grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as "GG," including Mathew, Jaime, Luke, Jesse, Vanessa, Jennifer and Lewis. She also had eight precious great-grandchildren. A sister-in-law, Ruth Chrislip (Delbert) of Moundsville and MaryLee Bowman of Tennessee and brother-in-law David Mason (Donna), also survive.
Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home, Second Street, Moundsville, with visitation Sunday, November 4 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Final resting place will be at Green View Cemetery on Roberts Ridge with a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Monday, November 5 with Pastor Paul K. Smith officiating.
