Donald DeMuth

DeMUTH, Donald E., 84, of Arbutus Park, Clarksburg, departed this life on November 4, 2012, at the United Hospital Center.

He was born in Wheeling, WV, on June 12, 1928, a son of the late Joseph P. DeMuth and Anna Schiffer DeMuth.

On October 12, 1957, Donald married the former Margaret J. "Peg" Klug DeMuth, who preceded him in death on July 15, 2012.

Mr. DeMuth is survived by his daughter Elizabeth "Bets" Barnes and her husband Randy of Clarksburg; and his grandson, Michael Barnes of Clarksburg. Also surviving are his sister, Nancy Tofaute of Wheeling, WV, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. DeMuth was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph S. DeMuth and James J. DeMuth, and one sister, Mary Fisher.

Mr. DeMuth was retired from C&P Telephone Company as a regional sales manager with 35 years of service. He proudly served our country as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Mr. DeMuth was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, where he was an usher for many years, and a member of the men's club. He held memberships with the Elks Lodge. B.P.O.E. 482, the American Legion Post 13, Meuse-Argon VFW Post 573, and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and also was a member of the Bridgeport County Club having been an avid golfer.

Family and friends may call at the Amos Carvelli Funeral Home, 201 Edison Street, Nutter Fort, on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Stonewood, WV at 10 a.m. with Reverend Father D. Kent Durig as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Holy Cross Cemetery, where full military graveside rites will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 2012 Capital Campaign, 707 3rd Street, Stonewood, WV 26301. Expressions of sympathy may be extended to the family at A service of Amos Carvelli Funeral Home.
