Incumbents Harry Radcliffe, Charles Murphy, Patty Murphy and Joe Roxby all earned re-election Tuesday evening as the top vote-getters in the race for the four open Ohio County magistrate seats.
Unofficially, 10,135 votes were cast for Democrat Radcliffe; 9,335 for Democrat Charles Murphy; and 9,738 for Democrat Patty Murphy. Republican Roxby earned 10,725 votes.
Republican challenger Desiree Lyonette netted 5,523 votes, and 6,338 votes were cast for Democratic candidate and senior status magistrate Rose Humway.
"I'm just humbled that the people placed their trust in me for a fourth term," said Radcliffe. "Everybody in the race was dedicated and capable."
"I just want to thank the voters for putting their trust and faith in me again for a fourth time," Charles Murphy said. "I love the people of this county; they've been so good to me over the years."
Patty Murphy offered: "I'm very thankful to the Ohio County voters for keeping me in office for another four years."
"I'm very humbled and very pleased that the citizens of Ohio County would see fit to place their trust in me again," Roxby said.
Radcliffe and Charles Murphy were first elected to their current posts in 2000; Patricia Murphy in 2004; and Roxby in 2008.
