MOUNDSVILLE - A new branch of Main Street Bank is open at 112 N. Lafayette Ave., Moundsville.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by several community figures was held Oct. 25.

"Marshall County has had Main Street Bank's interest for quite a few years," said Chief Executive Officer Rich Lucas, emphasizing that the bank always chooses new locations carefully. "We always take our time, but Moundsville's been on our radar for over five years."

Bank and community officials gather for the grand opening of the new branch of Main Street Bank, which opened recently at 112 N. Lafayette Ave., Moundsville.

He cited Moundsville's recent prosperity related to the oil and gas industry as an indication that it was a community worth investing in.

"Moundsville's off to a great start," he said.

Patricia Dunlap is president of the new Main Street Bank Marshall County, which employs nine new full-time employees.

"We are so pleased to be open here in Marshall County," Dunlap said. "We believe that Marshall County wants a bank that puts the customer first."

She noted that the Main Street Bank Marshall County is a smaller branch, and that she appreciates that fact.

"Being smaller, we're able to do more," Dunlap said. "We are looking forward to helping businesses and customers alike. We welcome everyone to come and visit us."

One of the bank's key areas of focus is for the employees to be involved in the community, officials said. For that reason, several community leaders were present at the grand opening. Among them were Delegate Mike Ferro, D-Marshall; Betsy Frohnapfel, Marshall County administrator; and Dr. Carlos Jimenez, whose practice is located in Glen Dale. It was Jimenez who cut the ribbon during the ceremony.

Being a commercial bank, Main Street Bank Marshall County offers its customers free checking, free online banking, loan products, certificates of deposit, money market accounts, ATM services, debit cards, credit cards, phone banking and safe deposit boxes.

The Moundsville location is the fourth in the Ohio Valley, joining branches in Wellsburg, Center Wheeling and Elm Grove.
