Ember's Bar, located 22nd and Marshall streets in McMechen, was robbed at gunpoint early Monday.
Police Chief David Robinson said two people forced a female employee face down onto the floor and proceeded to take an undetermined amount of money from the cash register.
He said the bartender was in the process of cleaning up the establishment when the robbers, one carrying a pistol, entered the bar.
Robinson said once the robbers left, the bartender hit the alarm button alerting police.
Robinson said one of the individuals was wearing a navy hooded sweatshirt, a camouflage jacket, a ski mask and gloves, while the other was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a ski mask. No other descriptions were provided.
This is the second robbery to occur in the region in the past few days.
At about 10 p.m. Friday, a white man wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and a scarf over his face robbed, at gunpoint, the Elm Grove Carryout store on Kruger Street, Wheeling.
The suspect, described as having a "stocky build," fled on foot with $500 in cash. That robbery still is under investigation by Wheeling police detectives.
