COOK, Rose Angela (Yahn), 85, of Wheeling, W.Va., died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Wheeling Hospital.

She was born June 8, 1927, in Wheeling, a daughter to the late Harold and Laura (Chute) Yahn.

Rose was a 1949 graduate of Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing, and was formerly employed by Wheeling Hospital and the Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Cook in 1985; her son, Thomas Kent Cook in 1954; and two brothers, Harold Yahn and George Yahn.

She is survived by one daughter, Cathy C. (Darrin) Martin of Tampa, Fla.; four sons, John D. Cook of Newport News, Va., Robert M. (Suzanne) Cook of Wheeling, David (Therese) Cook of Wheeling, and Richard A. (Perri) Cook of Wheeling; one sister, Patricia Hunt of Paris, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Nancy Yahn of Wheeling; 10 grandchildren, John, Beth, Jennifer, Matt, Carri, Megan, Kenneth, Marisa, Victoria, and Adam; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 4-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheeling, with Rev. William K. Matheny Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
