PANNELL, Ann Karen Hampshire, passed away after a 28 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis on Saturday, December 1, 2012. She will be remembered fondly by family and friends as someone with a sharp wit and kind smile.
As a former educator, she was always willing to teach and help others in need. Ann met and married the love of her life, Lance, in their hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, 35 years ago. They soon relocated to Wheeling, WV, where they raised their family and remained until her death.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Allen Hampshire, and mother, Jean Berkenbush Hampshire, along with her brothers-in-law, John Engleson and George Roguski.
The family that will continue to treasure her memory include her loving husband, Lance; her three children, Roberta, Rachel, and Justin; and her six granddaughters, Allison, Rowan, Jordan, Eja, Kathryn, and Lauren. Ann also leaves her sister, Jean Kathy Roguski, mother of Greg, Alexander, and Emily, and their significant others, along with her sister, Mary Engleson, mother of Jennifer, Matthew, and Allen and their significant others.
As an active member of her faith, Ann will be thought of often among the area congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses. Throughout her journey in life, Ann never lost her passion for family, life, faith and in this has left us a beautiful legacy.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, and again on Wednesday, December 5, 2012, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311), with Mr. Bill Johns officiating.
