William Thalman

THALMAN, William Howard, 72, of Shadyside, OH, died Thursday, December 6, 2012.

He was born April 16, 1940, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late George and Sarah (Smith) Thalman.

He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shadyside, OH. He was retired from International Harvester/Navistar and an electrician.

He was an avid golfer and a member of the Moundsville Country Club. He was also a big fan of Shadyside Sports, where he enjoyed being a race official for the track team. He was also a fan of WVU football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Stokes and Sarah Thorne.

He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (O'Connor) Thalman of Shadyside, OH, two children, Susan (Larry) Howell of Shadyside, OH, and William (Diane) Thalman of Murrysville, PA, and six grandchildren, Jody, Rachel, Brian, Eric, Heather and Mark. He is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Bellville of Wheeling, WV, and Mary Ellen (Bob) Regalsky of Martins Ferry, OH.

Family and friends will be received Sunday, December 9, 2012, at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory in Shadyside, OH from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. and Monday 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shadyside, Ohio at 11:30 a.m. with Father Samuel Saprano as Celebrant.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV will follow the memorial service.
