YAGER, Nancy C. (Lowe) Burkhart, 78, of Benwood, W.Va., died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Moundview Nursing Home.

She was born August 6, 1934, in McMechen, W.Va., a daughter to the late Joseph E. and Adelaide (Marple) Lowe. She was retired from Reynolds Memorial Hospital Business Office. She was a member of the First Church of God in McMechen, where she served as a deaconess. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

She was a devoted grandmother whose grandchildren were the light of her life.

Nancy was an avid fan of John Marshall sports and never missed a grandchild's game. She was a devoted employee of Reynolds Memorial Hospital and enjoyed working with "the girls." She was active in many church and community events and will be remembered for her smile, sense of humor, and kindness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Lowe.

Surviving is her husband, Charles E. "Chuck" Yager; three children, Vicki (Dave) Allender of Moundsville, W.Va., Pam (Jim) Deel of Moundsville, and Joseph E. (Rayne Ann) of Morgantown, W.Va.; a step-son, Gary Yager and Marsha Yager; one brother, Jim (Erlene) Lowe of Moundsville; grandchildren, David (Krenna) Allender, Morgan (Megan) Allender, Kimberly (Adam) Pratt, Kaley (Jonathan) Mironav, Matthew (Lauren Huggins) Deel, Ashley Deel, Craig (Karrie) Yager and Alicia (Brian) Zoya; great-grandchildren, Kinley Pratt, Sylas Burkhart, Koie Mironav, Ella Allender, Raegan Yager and Nicholas Yager; several nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Bob Hunt and Betty Suhdolski.

Friends will be received Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, December 9, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes and Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11 am at the First Church of God, Tenth and Logan Street, McMechen, with Pastor Mitch Johnston officiating. Interment will follow at McMechen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the First Church of God, 1003 Logan St, McMechen, W.Va. 26040 and to the John Marshall High School Athletic Fund, 1300 Wheeling Ave., Glen Dale, W.Va. 26038.
