PARSONS, Lewis Rodney, Sr., 77, of Triadelphia, WV, passed from this life to join the Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
He was born December 1, 1935, at home on Roberts Ridge, Marshall County, the son of the late Clell and Mildred Dodd Parsons.
Lewis was a retired operating engineer for Jarvis, Dowing and Emch Construction, a member of the Operating Engineers Local #132 and a member of the Ash Avenue Church of God, Moundsville of WV. He loved tinkering with projects, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dale, Elmer, Lawrence and Wayne Parsons and sisters, Lorraine Parsons and Jean Wells.
Lewis is survived by his best friend and wife, Sandra Buskirk Parsons; sons, Lewis, Jr. (Alice) and Kirk both of Wheeling; a daughter, Stacey Watkins (Kevin) of Parkerburg; grandsons, Lewis, III (Amber) and Zachary both of Wheeling; granddaughters, Allison and Addison both of Parkersburg; a great-granddaughter, Evelyn Parsons of Wheeling; a sister, Dorothy Hamilton; brothers, Clarence (Deanna), Earl (Geri), Paul (Helen) and Jay (Kathy) Parsons; sisters-in-law, Mary and Donna Parsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, December 15, 2012. A service celebrating Lewis's life will begin at 2 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311) with Pastor Jeff Hancock officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Liza's Place that provided compassionate care and unending support throughout Lewis's brief battle.
