Police and firefighters continue to search for a person who may have died in a structure fire at 195 15th St., Wheeling, on Saturday.
Deputy Police Chief Martin Kimball said Wednesday that officials were investigating whether human remains might be inside the burned-out building.
On Thursday, Fire Chief Larry Helms said four people were known to be squatting in the abandoned house before the blaze, and three of them have been found alive.
One person is still missing.
Helms said police and firefighters used cadaver dogs to search much of the structure on Thursday. A portion of the building, however, was too dangerous to enter.
Helms said crews are working to make that part of the house safe so it, too, can be searched.
