SITKO, Paul Michael, Sr., 89, of Wheeling passed away Monday morning, December 17, 2012.
Paul was born March 1, 1923, in Manifold, PA to Steven and Louise Gersna Sitko, immigrants from the former Czechoslovakia. In his late teens, after a powerful sermon and being miraculously healed of epilepsy, Paul devoted his life to serving the Lord. He married Tressie Sitko, a fellow student from International Bible College. After graduating from college, they embarked on an over fifty year ministry that spanned Detroit, MI, Haiti, Wheeling, WV and Powhatan Point, OH. He joyfully shared the Good News of Jesus with every person he met. He never forgot a face, never lost at Boggle and never was without his Bible and a crossword puzzle. He will be missed by his family who are proud of the upstanding person he was, and by the countless individuals who came to Christ through him.
Paul is survived by his wife of 64 years; son, Paul Michael Sitko Jr.; daughter, Melissa Dixon; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling (304-242-2311), where services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2012 with Pastor Paul Sitko Jr., officiating.
