Arthur Schunn

SCHUNN, Arthur W. "Art," 89, of Martins Ferry, OH, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Trinity West Medical Center, Steubenville, OH.

He was born July 25, 1923, in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Mathias and Anna (Tartler) Schunn.

He was retired from the former Blaw Knox Foundry of Wheeling, WV. Art was a member of the Edgwood Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wheeling, Military Order of the Cooties and the former V.F.W. Post #3613 and Eagles Aerie #456, both of Martins Ferry. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Lois E. (Shurtz) Schunn; his daughters: Arleen and her husband Pastor Robert C. Hawk of Greensburg, PA, and Anita Schunn of Martins Ferry; and brothers: Matthew G. Schunn of Martins Ferry and Robert A. (Judy) Schunn of Miromar Lake, FL.

Friends will be received Friday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, December 22, 2012, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, with Pastor Paul Schafer and Pastor Robert C. Hawk officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH.

Military honors will be presented at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. by the VFW Belmont County Honor Guard prior to the funeral service.
