Police said residents of a Pearl Street home in Moundsville returned home Wednesday to find one of their windows broken and blood all over the window and floor inside.

A jar containing approximately $200 in change was the only item reported missing. police Sgt. Don DeWitt said officers took an official report then followed up with a visit to Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, where staff reported nobody had come to the facility that evening with lacerations.

Investigation of this incident is ongoing, police said.

An unrelated arrest was made Tuesday on Eighth Street when police responded to a report of a suspicious person. Dustin Lee White, 25, is charged with breaking and entering into an auto, obstructing an officer and fleeing.

According to DeWitt, a caller at 12:43 a.m. reported a man dressed in all black going through cars in the 1300 block of Eighth Street.

Responding officers noticed the domed light on in a parked car and a man matching the description from the caller's report inside.

"The officer went to park his cruiser," said DeWitt. "The suspect saw him and took off, so a foot pursuit occurred. The Marshall County sheriff's office assisted in the pursuit, and the suspect was caught."

White was arraigned before Magistrate David M. Buzzard and was behind bars at the Northern Regional Jail in lieu of $1,500 bond. No court date has been set.
