Finley Amos

AMOS, Finley David, age 88, of New Martinsville, WV, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, in W.V. Veterans Nursing Facility, Clarksburg, WV.

He was born May 28, 1924, in Tyler County, WV, a son of the late Russell and Marie Rice Amos.

He was a retired shipping foreman for PPG Industries; a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, New Martinsville; and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Amos; and one brother, Raymond Amos; two sisters, Mary Louise Posey and Annabelle Fletcher.

Survivors include two daughters, Connie DeRico Surosky and husband, Harvey of Eldersburg, MD, and Frances Pearl Amos of Pittsburgh, PA; one sister, Luella Wells of Sistersville, WV; three grandchildren, Ellen (Steve) Travis of Hollis, ME, Joseph William DeRico of Elkridge, MD, and Brad (Amy) Surosky of Los Angeles, CA; and two great-grandchildren, William David Travis and Susie Marie Travis.

Family will receive friends on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third St., New Martinsville. Funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, corner of Locust Street and Maple Avenue, New Martinsville with Rev. Dr. Victor Hunter officiating.

Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
