NEW YORK - Bill Cowher has added a bit of intrigue to the NFL coaching carousel, telling Newsday he probably will return to the sideline at some point.
He tells the newspaper on Tuesday the challenge of returning to coaching after a long layoff is motivation for him to come back. But he says he hasn't been contacted by any of the five NFL teams hunting for a new head coach, and he isn't tempted by any of those opportunities either.
Cowher's career coaching record is 149-90-1. The Steelers went 8-8 in his final season.
