The Northern Panhandle Walk to End Alzheimer's planning committee would like to express our deep, sincere gratitude to everyone who supported the Walk to End Alzheimer's which was held on Oct. 13 at Wheeling Park. The walkers and volunteers showed up on a brisk, sunny morning to show their support and encouragement. A fire in the shelter's fireplace kept the chill off the air. There were caregivers, care receivers, those who had lost loved ones, and those who were fighting the fight for friends as well as people they've never met.
We all had something in common: Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia. It's a cause that tugs at your heart. And we are so grateful to the many hearts that supported us with donations, food, their presence, with a hard year of planning and with devotion to the cause that tugs at our hearts. Many thanks to the Planning Committee, the supporters of all the fundraisers leading up to the Walk, those who donated to the Walk, those who donated door prizes and silent auction items, our teams who bring life and faces to the Walk, the regional and state Alzheimer's Association offices, Wheeling Park, the Walk's media supporters and state and regional sponsors. We recognize those who gave us inspiration with their courage, those who provide care and those who are receiving it. Someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer's every 69 seconds. The time is now to stop Alzheimer's disease! Thank you for your help!
