WATSON, June Tuttle, joined her husband in heaven on January 11, 2013 having passed away in the Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling. She crossed over quietly and peacefully in her sleep.
She was born May 14, 1925 in Wheeling the son of the late Earl and Bessie Poth Tuttle.
June was a graduate of Triadelphia High School and West Liberty State College. She then was a full time mom and homemaker. After raising her family she was employed by Oglebay Institute and worked at the Stifel Fine Arts Center, Wheeling for 16 years where everyone loved her smile.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Wheeling where after her retirement she did volunteer work. She volunteered with a tutorial reading program at Woodsdale Elementary School where she was able to help children learn to read. She also was a member of the Eastern Star Miriam Chapter #1.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Watson; her brothers, Elmer and Earl Jr. Tuttle; her twin sister, Julia Tuttle Carroll; and her granddaughter, Stephanie Watson.
She is survived by her children, Richard Watson and his wife , Karen of Dry Fork, WV, Steven Watson and his wife, Sheri of Wheeling, Barbara Stafford and her husband, Tom of Independence, WV and Patricia Watson and Brian Tift of Morgantown, WV; six grandchildren, Sean Watson, Kristen Perko and her husband Jed, Brian, Steven, Shanae' and Spenser Watson; a step- granddaughter, Wendy Stafford Barrett and her husband, Ryan and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Valley Hospice, Family Services and her home caregivers, Steven Watson and Katy Smith.
Friends will be received on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd, Wheeling (304 232 2732).
Services will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Christ United Methodist Church, 1232 National Rd, Wheeling with the Reverend Margie Carr officiating.
Interment in West Alexander Cemetery, West Alexander, PA.
