NAU, Joan M., 91, of Wheeling died Monday, January 14, 2013 in Wheeling Hospital.
She was born October 5, 1921 in Wheeling, a daughter of the late James and Bernette Beltz McGrail.
Joan was retired from Photo Crafters and Gruber Photography, was a member of St. Joseph Academy Bridge Club, Christian Mothers at St. Michael, Minister of Praise at St. Michael, Sisters of St. Joseph Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Carrol Ladies and St. Michael Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband John F. Nau, in 1978; and two sisters, M. Lenore Noll and Eileen Ritter.
Surviving are three children Robert L. Nau and his wife Marlene of Wheeling, Michael A. Nau and his wife Susan of Wheeling, Jacquelyn A. Hupp and her husband Herbert of Windsor Heights; brother Jim McGrail of Wheeling; sister Sally Mull of Wheeling; sister in law Eileen McGrail of Wheeling; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Marie Assaro.
Friends will be received on Thursday, January 17 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 18, at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Vigil services will be conducted on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
