Martha Plusquellec

PLUSQUELLEC, Martha Ann Evans, age 100, died peacefully at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Wheeling on December 22, 2012. A memorial service will be held in Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on January 26, 2013.

Martha was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 8, 1912 to Jonah and Adele Bergstresser Evans.

On January 18, 1933 she married Peter Plusquellec. They moved to Wheeling in 1942, where she has resided ever since. She was a homemaker and an active member of the community, serving as president of the Board of the Florence Crittenden Home, president of the Madeleine Rogers Circle of The King's Daughters, and honorary member of the Board of ELF Child Care Center. She was a member of Vance Presbyterian Church for nearly 70 years, serving as Deacon, Evangelism and Membership Committee member, Sunday School teacher, president of a Presbyterian Women's Circle, and preparer of meals for shut-ins.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul L. and Betty Plusquellec of Montgomery, TX; a sister, Margaret Simon of North Olmsted, OH; daughter-in-law Louise Plusquellec of Wooster, OH; grandchildren Martha Plusquellec, Scott Plusquellec, Paul Plusquellec Jr., Alan Plusquellec, John Plusquellec, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a sister Rachel Emery, brothers Byron Evans and John Evans, and a son, Kenneth R. Plusquellec.

Memorial gifts may be made to Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church, 905 National Road, or to ELF Child Care Center, 61 13th Street, Wheeling.
