FOULK, Mary Jane Hare died Friday, January 11, 2013, in the comfort of her daughter's home in Lake Charles, LA.

She was born May 1, 1921, in Wheeling, WV, and grew up in West Alexander, PA. She was one of nine children of the late Edgar and Helena Godfrey Hare.

Mary Jane was a 1938 graduate of Triadelphia High School and attended Bethany College where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She worked as a secretary at Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel before her marriage to Tom Bond Foulk, Jr. on June 5, 1943.

Tom was a graduate of the United States Military Academy, and became a career Air Force command pilot and communications specialist.

Tom and Mary Jane traveled the world for 30 years and took their family and four children, Susan, Tom, Judy and Julie with them. Mary Jane set up homes throughout the world and the US. They lived in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, Ohio, Illinois, Nebraska, Hawaii, Japan and the Phillipine Islands. She was a dedicated wife and mother, a charming and gracious hostess, a skilled cook and seamstress, and an accomplished golfer and tennis player. She also volunteered her time to many worthy endeavors such as girl scouts, hospitals, the Kings Daughters of Wheeling and the Red Cross. She loved to read, work crossword puzzles and cross stitch, planted flowers everywhere she lived and was an avid lifelong fan of the West Virginia University Mountaineer Football team. With the help of her family and friends, she amassed an amazing collection of hundreds of rabbit figurines.

Tom and Mary Jane retired to Wheeling in 1972. Mary Jane and Tom moved to to Morgantown, WV in 2007 for two years to live near their daughter, Susan, and then she and Tom spent their last years in Lake Charles, Louisiana with their daughter, Judy.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom on January 28, 2011; her beloved daughter, Judy on March 18, 2012; a sister, Betty Clelland and two brothers, Frank and Robert Hare.

She leaves to honor her memory three children and their spouses and 10 grandchildren, Susan Foulk Graves and her husband, Dr. Robert Graves of Morgantown, WV, Colonel US Army retired, Tom B. Foulk, III and his wife, Judi of Alexandria, VA, Dr. Julie Foulk Nash and her husband, Dr. James Nash of Exeter, NH and her son in law, John Polansky of Lake Charles, LA; 10 grandchildren, Andrea Graves Hinerman and her husband, William, Erica Graves Todd and her husband, Chris, Jenn J. Foulk Hare and her husband, Jeffrey, Christopher Bond Foulk and his wife, Lisa, John "Trey" Polansky, III and his wife, Erin, Ryan Polansky and his fiancee, Lindsey Aguillard, Matthew and Alex Polansky and Jessica and David Nash; eight great-grandchildren, Abigail, Samuel and Jacob Todd, Emma, Jack and Kate Hare, and Rylan and Samantha Polansky. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Margaret Wheat, Hester Rowe, Andrew Hare, Charles Hare and J. R. Hare and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 25, 2913, from 11 a.m. until time of service at Noon at the Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd, Wheeling, WV, with the Reverend Richard Skaggs officiating.

Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.

A gathering of family and friends will follow at Stratford Springs.
