VANCAMP, Wilma Mae Baxter, age 98 of New Martinsville, WV, formerly of Willard, OH passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV with family by her side.
She was born September 1, 1914 in Moundsville, WV the daughter of the late Herman Ross and Lillian Josephine Bohrer Baxter.
Wilma graduated from Magnolia High School and attended West Liberty College and Bowling Green University in Ohio.
She taught in a one room school house in West Virginia and spent most of her teaching career in the Willard, OH area where she taught for 28 years and 13 years in WV.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Willard, OH and a member of The First Church of God in New Martinsville.
Wilma will be remembered for her apple pies, chocolate fudge, chicken and noodles, and her kind-heart, gentle spirit and the loving example she set for her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl F. VanCamp; two brothers, Russell Raymond and Jacob Robert Baxter; a nephew and a great great nephew.
Survivors include two brothers, Ralph Herman Baxter of Clearwater, FL and George Ross (Edith) Baxter of Proctor; a sister, Faye Eloise Evans of Ft. Worth, TX; a sister in law, Martha Baxter North of Springfield, MO. Eleven nieces and nephews; 20 great nieces and nephews; and 26 great great nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, WV with Rev. Russ Whitener officiating.
Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville, WV.
