MILLER, Rosemary E., 79, of Wheeling died Thursday, January 31, 2013, in Wheeling Hospital, after 80 years of living with insulin dependency.
She was born April 19, 1933, in Wheeling, to the late Charles N. and Mary Wahl Eisenhauer.
Rosemary was educated at Mount de Chantal Visitation Academy and graduated cum laude from West Virginia University.
She married Robert C. Miller on January 2, 1956.
Rosemary was very active as a volunteer. She worked for many years as a director, board chair and president at Mount de Chantal and served for many years as committee chair for the Oglebay Mansion Museum Antique Show, and was a charter member of the Friends of Wheeling and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Wheeling.
She and Bob had an active social life and had traveled extensively.
Rosemary was a lifelong, active member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Eisenhauer, Jr. and his wife Eileen.
Rosemary leaves behind her husband, Robert C. Miller and three sons, C. Mark (Susan) of Columbus, Edward L. "Ted" (Jo Ellen) and R. Gregory (Tammy) of Wheeling; and her great pride, seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are five nieces and nephews in Daytona, FL; her sister, Carole, and her husband Lionel Updyke of Houston, TX; and special family members, aunt Clara Wahl of Wheeling and brother-in-law, Charles H. Miller of Glenelg, MD.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church, with Rev. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mansion Museum, Oglebay Institute, 1330 National Road, Wheeling or to St. Michael Catholic Church.
