GARCIA, Joseph M., age 54, of Moundsville, WV, died Monday, February 18, 2013, in Wheeling Hospital Medical Park, Wheeling, WV.

He was born July 16, 1958, in Glen Dale, WV, the son of Jacqueline "Jackie" Alvarez Garcia of Moundsville, and the late Louie A. "Frog" Garcia.

He was a welder at AEP Mitchell Plant with over 36 years of service; attended Limestone Presbyterian Church; was a member and president of Union Local 492 Utility Workers (UWUA); was active in coaching Moundsville Girls Softball and John Marshall High School Summer-Fall League; and coached Marshall County Stealers Travel Softball Team.

In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 20 years, Linda Garcia; two daughters, Megan and Lauren Garcia, both at home; a sister, Mary (William) Games of Glen Dale; nieces and nephews, Amy and A.J. Games, and Kelly and David Ross; his mother-in-law, Betty Ann Barkley of Uniontown, PA; and a sister-in-law, Marcia Ross of VA.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Larry Kline officiating.

Interment in Limestone Cemetery, Moundsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Moundsville Girls Softball, 250 Curtis Ave., Moundsville, WV; or Limestone Presbyterian Church, RD. 1, Route 250, Moundsville, WV.
