YOCUM, Raymond W., 79, of Locust Lane, Glen Dale, WV, died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale.
He was born November 17, 1933 in Silver Hill, WV the son of the late Bruce and Eliza Hutchison Yocum.
Ray was a retired roll grinder operator at Blaw Knox in Warwood and Wheeling; a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War; and a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Yoho.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Kitty Griffin Yocum; two sons, Raymond Yocum, Jr. of NC and John (Renae) Yocum of Glen Dale; seven daughters, Catherine (Bill) Whorton, Teresa (Rick) Kinkes, Bridget Kotson all of Glen Dale, Kelly (Rick) Clemons of Martins Ferry, Erin Yocum of Glen Dale, Molly (Lyle) Powell of Moundsville, and Dannie (Mike) Smith of Wheeling; a brother, Robert (Iris) Yocum of Glen Dale; a sister, Sue McConnell of Wheeling; 32 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 610 Jefferson Avenue, Moundsville with Fr. Symeon Galazka, O.S.B. as celebrant. Entombment in Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV.
