Mary Fragale

FRAGALE, Mary Elizabeth, 83, of Wheeling died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in the Heartland- Lansing Nursing Home.

She was born September 14, 1929 in Wheeling, daughter of the late Harry and Dorothy Ayers Hanket.

Mary was so devoted to her family. She dearly loved her three grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, baking and decorating cakes for special occasions and loved to take care of her flower beds.

Mary took such pride in keeping the house tidy and making sure everyone was fed. She had a special friend who stayed by her side for countless hours; a little dog named Haley.

Mary was the kind of person that would do absolutely anything for anyone. Mary was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Fragale, Sr., in 2010; and a brother, Harry W. Hanket II.

Surviving are three children; James (Tina) Fragale, Jr. of Wheeling, David P. Fragale of Wheeling, Elaine (Kurt) Fragale- Speaker of Wheeling; a brother, Robert (Lexie) Hanket of Moundsville, WV; three grandchildren, Grayson Elizabeth Speaker, Annarenee Caylin Speaker, Colter James Fragale and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, March 1, from 3-6 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. Michael Catholic Church, with Fr. Jeremiah McSweeney as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Parkview Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Valley Hospice.
