WARDEN, Donald E., 86, of Wheeling, WV, died Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center in Cambridge, Ohio.
He was born November 19, 1926, in Wheeling, a son to the late Thomas R. Sr. and Alma (Thonen) Warden. He was retired after 30 years of service as an industrial engineer with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. He also served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Japan during the occupation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. (Seabright) Warden, one brother, Thomas R. Warden Jr., and one sister, Virginia Plaisted.
He is survived by three daughters, Jane (Ronald) Engott of Cambridge, Ohio, Judy (Wayne) Olhoft of Eagen, MN, and Joyce (Todd) Kimpel of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Aura (Ben) Engott Fox, Lynne M. Kurdziel, Dan J. Kurdziel, Matthew E. Kimpel, Laura E. Kimpel, and Kathryn E. Kimpel; three great-grandchildren, Aiden King, Evan Fox, and Julia Fox; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 2-6 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Elm Grove Chapel, 154 Kruger St., Wheeling, and Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Elm Grove United Methodist Church from 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon with Rev. Bryan Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
