Barbara Clark

CLARK, Barbara Helen Gergye, 90, of Wheeling passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center, Wheeling, WV.

She was born July 30, 1922, in Crescent, Belmont County, Ohio, daughter of the late Michael and Lena Kalapos Gergye.

Mrs. Clark was a homemaker and was a member of Stone Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder for many years. She was past PTA President President of the Stone Presbyterian Woman's Association; Associate Member of Retired Teachers Association; Volunteer at Wheeling Soup Kitchen, and the Hunger Program at Stone Presbyterian Church; and a blood donor for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin P. "Bud" Clark in 2005; and a brother, Michael.

She is survived by her sons, David R. Clark and his wife, Lynn of Edgewater, MD, and Leonard C. Clark of Wheeling, WV; her daughter, Janet C. Wright and her husband, Frank of Manassas Park, VA; a brother, Frank L. Gergye of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Staci L. Clark of Lewes, DE; Nathan D. Clark and his wife, Beth of Pittsburgh, PA; Rena Rhodes and her husband, Lewis of Martins Ferry, OH; Samuel E. Wright of Manassas Park, VA; and great-grandchildren, Henry Clark, Elena Clark, Rowan Clark, and Abby Rhodes.

Friends will be received on Saturday, March 9, 2013, from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m., all at the Stone Presbyterian Church, Wheeling, with Reverend Robert P. Nagy officiating. Interment in Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, 1610 Eoff Street, Wheeling, WV 26003; or to Stone Presbyterian Church, 25 East Cove Avenue, Wheeling, WV 26003.
