Crash Results In Arrest

WHEELING - A 29-year-old Wheeling man was arrested after crashing his pickup truck into a utility pole in front of the MedExpress plaza on National Road early Sunday evening.

Matthew J. Bougher was charged with possession of a controlled substance, driving while suspended and failure to maintain control. He remained in the Northern Regional Jail at mid-morning today under a $1,500 bond.

According to information at the Ohio County Magistrate's Office, Bougher said he had been looking up a the hillside and the next thing he knew he had crashed into a utility pole. The force of the crash totaled his vehicle and broke the pole in half. American Electric Power workers replaced the pole.

The report did not indicate whether Bougher was injured.
