Businesses Targeted For Herbal Incense

The Belmont County Sheriff's Department took action to stop the sale of synthetic marijuana at stores across the county Wednesday.

Information provided by Sheriff David Lucas states four search warrants related to the sale of synthetic cannabinoids, aka herbal incense, were served by deputies. Targeted by the warrants were the Trading Post in Bridgeport and the home of its owner; the Shadyside Party Center in Shadyside; and Bob's Cheap Smokes in St. Clairsville.

One person was taken into custody, but his or her identity was not released.

Additional information is expected to be released during a news conference at 9:30 a.m. today at the Belmont County Sheriff's Office.
