BELTZ, Shirley Dague, 84, of Bethlehem, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2013 in the Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital and Geriatric Center, Wheeling
She was born October 20, 1928 in Wheeling, WV., the daughter of the late Curtis W. and Agnes Luke Dague.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis H. Beltz; her daughter, Pamela Beltz Lyons; and her devoted aunt, Anna Luke Dague.
She is survived by daughter, Gayle Beltz Neldon (Gary); grandchildren, Kristin Neldon of Morgantown, WV, Andrew Neldon of Denver, CO, and Abigayle Lyons of Moundsville, WV; brother, Loring Dague (Margie) of Bowie, MD; sister-in-law, Ellen Webb of Wheeling; son-in-law, Brent Lyons (Joy); of Moundsville, WV; step-granddaughter, Deanna Thompson of Moundsville, WV; niece, Patty Harrison; nephews, Steve Dague (Robyn), David Dague (Holly), Harold Coast (Linda), and John Webb; other nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, neighbor, and caregiver Nancy Mengeu.
Shirley attended school in Ohio County and received her degree from West Liberty University. She taught in Ohio County Schools for 29 years, with a 10 year interlude as a stay-at-home mom. She was a member of the Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. Among her favorite hobbies were reading, painting, travel, and enjoying nature.
She and her late husband had been active in Western-style square dancing in earlier years throughout the Ohio Valley. She leaves behind many friends and loved ones whom she touched throughout her life. The family wishes to thank the staff at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital for their care and kindness to Shirley.

Friends will be received from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 24, 2013 and on Monday, March 25, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at at 1 p.m. the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311) with the Reverend Greg Markins officiating.
Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Dallas, WV.
