BERRY, Rodney T. "Rod", 65, of Wheeling Ave., Glen Dale, died Sunday, March 31, 2013, at Ohio Valley Medical Center.

He was born March 6, 1948 in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late John Warder and Edith Donlin Berry.

Rod was a graduate of Union High School in 1966, West Liberty State College in 1970, and West Virginia University Law School in 1973.

He was senior partner at Berry, Kessler, Crutchfield, Taylor and Gordon Law Office; served in the West Virginia House of Delegates for two terms; a lobbyist; enjoyed wine making; an avid Mountaineer, Steelers, and blues fan; and dearly loved his granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother Halle Berry and a brother William Berry.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Rita (Nelson) Berry; two sons, John William Berry and his wife, Devon of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Zachary T. Berry of Glen Dale; two granddaughters, Samantha Joyce Berry of Moundsville, Sophia Grace Berry of Fort Lauderdale; a brother, Russell (Berry) Schlenker and his wife, Sherry of Moundsville; his father- in-law Robert "Ozzie" Nelson of Glen Dale; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from Noon-2 p.m. and 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville.

Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Bank, 621 7th St., Moundsville, in Rod's name, for benches at the Heritage Port and the Moundsville Courthouse.
