School administrators in West Virginia must substitute teach at least three days each school year under legislation approved Tuesday in Charleston.

Senate Bill 80, introduced by state Sen. Larry Edgell, D-Wetzel, passed the House by a vote of 78-20 with all local delegates voting in favor.

The measure now moves on to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin for signature.

The measure adds substitute teaching to the duties of certain professional educators employed by county boards of education in the county board central office.

It exempts the superintendent, and those without a valid teacher's license.

Also passed in the House Tuesday was SB 183, Senate President Jeff Kessler's bill updating terms in the Corporation Net Income Tax Act.

The measure was approved with a vote of 98-0.
