Gilbert Driscoll

DRISCOLL, Gilbert J., age 90, of Columbus, OH, passed away April 10, 2013, at his home.

He was born January 6, 1923, in Wheeling, WV to the late George and Mary (Bremer) Driscoll.

Gil enlisted in the Army in 1942. His company received ribbons for the battle of the Rhineland, Central Europe, Eastern Theater, The European African Middle Eastern Theater.

Gil graduated from the University of Denver with Bachelor degrees in Engineering and Accounting. He taught various subjects at the Bliss Business College in Columbus for 24 years. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service as an agent after 25 years of service. Gil served as treasurer at TEA Credit Union for many years. He was also a devoted member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal for 37 years.

In addition to his parents, Gil was preceded in death by his brother, George Driscoll, Jr. and his sister, Delores Allen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Pauline "Polly" Driscoll; children, Douglas Driscoll, Keith (Lisa) Driscoll, Mark (Carol) Low, Kim Low, and Beth DiLiberti; grandchildren, Julie Driscoll, Amy Driscoll, Megan Driscoll, Zach Low, Emma Low, Hayley Malone, Carley Malone, Alex DiLiberti, Daniel DiLiberti, and Ian Driscoll; nieces, Janice and Judy.

Family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Friday at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where a Prayer Service and Rosary will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 am Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 5225 Refugee Rd., Fr. James T. Coleman, celebrant. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Pataskala.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd. Dublin, OH 43017.
