BELLAIRE - Akron Hoban and Dayton Meadowdale turned the Bellaire Girls Invitational, sponsored by Belmont Savings Bank, into basically a dual meet Saturday afternoon at Nelson Field.
Hoban captured the meet title with 168 points, while Meadowdale was second with 100. St. John Central was the top finishing area school with 64 points.
The Irish produced one meet champion. Sophomore phenom Fallon Doyle claimed the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:23.0. She fought off Shadyside senior Tara Tollett for the victory.
The host Big Reds produced three champions.
Senior thrower Myleah Green captured the discus and shot put titles. She won the platter event with a twirl of 95-ft-10. She then captured the shot put with a mark of 33-ft-9 3/4.
Sophomore Danielle Stoner captured the 3,200-meter run with a time of 13:43.
The final local champion came in the pole vault where Shadyside frosh McKayla Kinemond prevailed with a height of 7-6.
